Nearing the end of their natural lifespan, 01209 faces a growing internal conflict with their previously dormant morality. Ordered to perform a duty which triggers a cascade of emotions, flashbacks, and nightmares culminating in a radical shift of their identity, their outlook, and their loyalty to The Corporation and the humans who "control" them.

Summary
Before the sawians were used for research and development, there existed a different group entirely; one that very few people knew of and lesser who knew what it was meant for. Project MANIAC was meant to test new technologies and bioengineering on human soldiers, with many systems, equipment, and augmentations being experimented on human test subjects to see the effectiveness of each new iteration that came out after the last. New armor designs, experimental combat drugs, and augmented human organs/body parts were the norm, but they took time to theorize, plan, and produce.
Government contracts started disappearing one by one, the funding was drying up and time was running out. In the background, a new product was in development, one that would change the Company forever: The Experiment.
Project MANIAC had very little time to produce the final product before the newly created bio-form would take precedence, but as previously mentioned, the project was shut down as the loss of the Company's precious and critical cargo was lost, with it killing the program as a whole.
With no buyers and no funding, the Company sent the maniacs down to retrieve it, but to no success; and now only one is left alive. His name is 1014. -

As per usual, another batch of experiments get selected at the end of the day to be sent down to the Grey Planet. The mission has not changed: retrieve the experimental technology. No more, and no less info provided.
Stripe is one of the chosen ones, and now he has to endure all the terrible, unfair, traumatic experiences that all the experiments before him have faced.
The only issue is... Stripe is a Voyager. Created to unquestionably serve humanity. Trained to love humans, and be the most loved(?) ones back. They are, by default, above all of the other Sawians, no?
Surely, this is all part of the brilliant humans' plans...?
Let's see what a varied cast of characters he may meet have to say about the issue.

Summary
An expie miraculously returns back. The mission is incomplete, but surviving through Gray Planet makes you valuable, being assigned a better cell and slightly more humane handlers, still bothered by your wellbeing due to their inexperience. The first thing experiments alike get offered is to meet the operator that guided them throughout their journey. Isn't this exciting, to see the one who made sure you're still breathing?
