Summary
Jack uses one of the fancy ass pillows to set behind his back. He leans over as the couple is introduced and starts taking off his prosthesis. He sets it next to the couch and starts massaging the limb while trying to pay any attention to the show. It’s mostly for background noise. Jack only gets half-invested at the start, and Robby’s never paying enough attention listening to know what’s going on.
or
Robby needs to have a cock in his mouth sometimes so he can give up his control. Just for a little bit, he needs a calm mind and not worry about anything other than the thing in his mouth and making sure the person attached to it is calm and warm. Jack's an enthusiastic participant.

Summary
Jack’s expecting the person knocking on a Tuesday night to be Mary from next door asking for a cup of sugar. On the way to answer, he decides maybe Mary doesn’t need to see him half naked and snags a shirt from the laundry pile, balancing precariously on one leg as he fights it on. When he opens the door, there’s Robby standing in the darkness of his porch.
“You’re not due back for another 7 weeks,” Jack says.
“Keeping count, are you?” Robby says.

“I can help.”
“You?” Robby asked, visibly startled.
“Yeah,” Jack nodded, immediately committed to what was, at first, an impulsive thought. “Look, you said Janey had you do straightforward tasks. I can help you with that. It doesn’t have to be a thing.” Jack waved his hand between them, trying to quickly brush past some of the other ways Janey had helped Robby get out of his head.

“Too old for you, Miss James,” Abbot replied easily, tossing his gloves in the bin.
The girl smirked. “You sure?”
“Oh, I’m sure,” Abbot nodded, patting Crus on the shoulder to signal that they were good to splint. “And even if I wasn’t,” he continued, pulling his chain out of his shirt. “I’m tied-down.”—

Summary
Robby is sick but he's sure this time is different. Last time was a big deal but he's just under the weather. There's no need for everyone to get so worked up and there's certainly no reason that he should have to do a pregnancy test "just to be sure."

Summary
After Robby finishes flossing and pulls out his bottle of mouthwash, he looks through the glass once more, then pauses for a beat when he notices Jack is watching him. Robby's lips quirk before he flicks his gaze away and focuses on rinsing his mouth, trying to lose his thoughts in the sharp minty flavor. It doesn't work. Every so often, he risks another peek, sees Jack studying him unblinkingly, then glances away again. His cheeks heat, at odds with the comfortable chill on his own bare chest. But though he keeps waiting for Jack to tease him about looking like a chipmunk with his puffed-out cheeks, he doesn't say a word. When he finally spits the mouthwash out, Robby takes a deep breath, glances again, then huffs out a chuckle. Jack is, in fact, still focused on him. And he's smiling. "Got something to say?" Robby asks.
Jack shrugs. "Oh, don't mind me." His gaze travels slowly, slowly down Robby's body, the kind of glacial pace that sends a shiver rippling through his veins. "Just enjoying the view."

Summary
A particularly tragic case has left Robby low. Jack comes over to raise his spirits, and though Robby is one secretive son of a bitch when it comes to his own feelings, everything seems like it will be okay.
Later, the unthinkable happens. The attempt leaves Robby in the hospital and Jack scrambling to make sense of it all. He would've preferred Robby shoot him stone-cold dead.
As he starts the long road to recovery, Robby and Jack wrestle with the aftermath. Not only dealing with the devastation of his partner trying to take his own life, Jack struggles with his moral obligations as a doctor, a friend, and a partner. Robby wants to continue to be a pillar for his family to depend on, but has to come to terms with the fact that he cannot be an island forever.Bookmarked by vanitashaze

Summary
Dana thinks all three of her girls are beautiful, in their own wonderful ways. They were adorable little girls and they've grown into gorgeous women. She's got some pretty damn good genetics to hand out, thank you very much: the three sets of proof are right there. Her oldest Sophie has darker blonde hair than her mother and it has so many gorgeous shades of honey and gold threaded through. Her middle, Caroline (though she became Carrie in college), has Benji's deep blue eyes and Dana's heart-shaped face and it makes her look like a freaking cherub in all her baby pictures. All of her daughters are beautiful and Dana would never rank them against each other, in her love or her affection or her esteem.
But in terms of individual traits, she thinks the one she likes the most is the one she's never going to acknowledge out loud. That no one ever acknowledges out loud.
She loves her youngest daughter's nose.
Dana loves Rosemary's long, sharp, aquiline nose that looks not quite like hers or Benji's.

Summary
"Wanna cut our losses and head out?" Robby asks, already prepared to grab Jack's bag and get the hell out of dodge.
Jack's lips twitch, eyes sparkling. "What's your hurry? We paid to see a movie, didn't we? We've still got at least a half hour left."
"No way. Are you honestly enjoying this shit?" Robby's brows shoot up.
Jack shrugs. "Maybe it'll redeem itself in the end."
"Yeah, by killing the guy off so we don't have to listen to him screaming every time he lays into somebody."
Jack's hand slides a little higher, bringing all of Robby's thoughts to a stop. "We don't have to go anywhere for me to keep you warm, that's all I'm saying."

Summary
“I appreciate you sharing that with me,” Robby slowly says, picking his words with care. “Objectively, and with love, that’s the saddest defense of therapy I’ve ever heard.”
“It worked. How about I buy you a drink after each session? The bar’s close to the therapist’s office.”
“You’ve got better things to do on your day off.”
“Not really,” Abbot says, and he smiles at Robby’s surprise. “The nachos aren’t half bad.”
---
After months of ducking and digging in heels, Robby finally starts seeing a therapist. Abbot's therapist. It's inadvisable, sure, but it seems to be working. At least, until their deepening relationship dredges up feelings which Abbot thought had died with his husband.Bookmarked by vanitashaze

Summary
"Things started to gain momentum near the end of shift change, in that strange pocket of time when chaos loosened its grip just enough for exhaustion to settle in. Robby leaned against the counter beside Jack, shoulder brushing shoulder and neither of them moving away.
“You busy tonight?” Robby asked lightly, eyes on the board instead of Jack.
Too light. Too casual. Too deliberate.
Jack didn’t look at him immediately. He finished signing off a chart and set the pen down carefully. Let silence stretch just long enough to make the question real. Then, calm and simple:
“I’m available.”
Robby went very still. Jack turned then, just slightly, and met his gaze.
Something flickered across Robby’s face. Surprise, relief, fear, something almost like grief, before he covered it with a crooked half smile.
“…Good,” he said quietly."

"You want me to go?"
That's the last thing Jack wants. "Stay, please, you know you're always welcome."
Robby relaxes, and he carries on stirring
Jack interrupts the quiet once more with the other question that's been on the tip of his tongue.
"Why haven't you left?"
Robby freezes. He doesn't turn around, doesn't look at Jack, like it's easier to be honest this way.
"Because I think if I go, I won't come back."

Sunset Heat (n.) — A spontaneous omega heat cycle occurring later in life, often triggered by a perceived environment of safety, and/or the presence of a compatible mate.
Jack Abbot hasn’t had a heat in over a decade. He buried that part of himself along with his mate, his missing leg, and with everything else soft and needing. The problem is, there's only one alpha close enough to have caused it. And asking him might cost Jack the one steady thing left in his life.
