“Are you making latkes?” Dipper asks. He stands on his tiptoes to look over the pan of oil, which has a few latkes sizzling away in it. Stan has to slap Mabel’s hand away from the plate full of cooling latkes.
“Hey! They’re not done yet, back off!” he barks.
Or, in which it is Christmakkuh, Stan is long-suffering, Ford is not doing too well, and everyone else is just excited to eat fried food and put up the Christmas lights. A few bad memories surface, but family bonding prevails.

Summary
“Oh, they’re just being weird about my fake grave again,” Stan says dismissively. He kicks at the stone and takes a minute to decide whether or not it’s worth trying to prop it up again. In the end, he decides to go ahead and make the effort, if only so Mabel and Dipper won’t give him the double puppy eyes when they come back from their weird mold adventure.
When the rock is sitting up on its base for the second time, Stan realizes that Ford has gone painfully quiet.

Bookmarker's Notes
“Tav, has that stupid voice in the back of your head telling you not to do things ever made you happy?” Jane asks the back wall over Tavish’s shoulder.
“Kept me safe,” Tavish sighs.
“That’s not what I asked, private,” Jane reiterates. “Has it made you happy? Has it ever actually helped you find the man you’re supposed to be?”
Tavish thinks long and hard, bringing his hands up run shaky fingers through Jane’s hair. “No,” he admits. “I don’t think it has. You?”
“Me? I crushed that voice years ago under the heel of my American-made double buckle combat boots. Like a goddamn ant.”
Tavish snorts. “Figures.”
