(๑'ヮ'๑)っ⁾⁾ Hallo! This is not updating again for an indeterminate time period, and when it does, it will hopefully be a more cohesive version of what I want to tell.
many months ago, sergius angenent, a normal sheep satyr, had a run in with a supposed goddess– he calls bullshit, even two months later with her visiting him frequently. him being a satyr doesn't mean he has to believe in deities.
cut to four months later and he is now death's little harbinger, although she calls him her canary in a coal mine, or her herald. weird, but he roles with it. now he lives on somewhat normally, if you don't consider the celestial entities occasionally popping in.
at least his social life has gotten better.
tldr; guy gets friend-adopted by lady death, then proceeds to have a better social life because of it.

Summary
A primal was summoned with an immense amount of chroma and could temper anyone close by. It was like a magical parasite, worming its way into one’s mind until anyone would turn into its thrall, serving it unapologetically. He had read recovered letters of how friends had turned against friends, parents had killed their children, and throats had been cut by their own bodies.
The worst part was that they couldn’t even leave the primal alone.
Lumière was running out of supplies and they had to make the continent livable.
And that just so included slaying an immortal primal that could temper them if they dared to get too close.
God, Gustave needed a drink.

Verso notices the mottled blue paint on Gustave's eyes one day and cannot stop noticing it.
It's an indication that Alicia has painted over him repeatedly, enough that his chroma is becoming corrupted by how often it's happening.
When Gustave comes to him demanding answers, demanding to know what is going on... Verso can't deny him.

Summary
Against all odds, Lumiere survived.
Maelle did her very best to restore the city and repaint everyone that she could reach - and then she left. Now the city stands, promising a future; tomorrow has finally come and Gustave... has no idea what to do with it.
For the first time in generations people have started looking towards the Continent not as expeditioners, but as settlers. There is just one problem: Nevrons still exist. If they are to ask Maelle to paint a bridge between the continent and Lumiere when she next visits, they need settlements on both its ends, under a shield dome.
But the original plans for the dome's construction have been lost and, unfortunately for Gustave, the one who might be able to help is one Verso Dessendre - the man who let him die... and the one who might just show him what tomorrow's for. But while Gustave slowly rediscovers the man all call a traitor, Verso struggles to confront the terrifying possibility that there might still be things in this world worth living for.

Verso has a second to register it before he realizes he’s being cornered by three, very serious children. Gustave’s apprentices, to be more precise. Not the threat he first would’ve thought of, but there you go.
”What are your intentions towards Gustave?”
In which the apprentices have had enough of Verso & Gustave’s pining and confront Verso. They might also recruit some help while they're at it, and Verso suffers.
